I read in one of your posts about Jesus not being our buddy as some so called Christian groups portray. What does it mean then when we hear God wants a relationship with us?
Answer to Question 353
God wants us to strive to be like him, to learn how to love him and all his creation. Man's goal is to become one with God so that we can be with him eternity. Christ said that he will no longer call us servants but friends, but that does not mean that we should forget that he is God Incarnate, the King and Creator of the Universe, the Logos, the Almighty and Eternal God and that at all times we must show him the utmost respect and reverence. Calling God your buddy is in my opinion a familiarity that forgets that God must be worshiped.
