Father why if I christened my brothers son my brother cannot christen my children? I didnt end up letting my brother christen my daughter because I wanted to christen their son because of it.
Answer to Question 256
There are no canons that say someone can or cannot be a Godparent as long as they are Orthodox. We only have canons dealing with marriages between Godparents and Godchildren.
Same member I even called the priest and asked and they also said no.
Reply You shouldn't have asked. The truth is if we have restrictions on who can be a Godparent then we would have a questionnaire people would have to fill in before being accepted as a Godparent. But the truth is we don't ask and people turn up for the baptism and we go ahead with it without asking questions.
